Established in the year 2006 under the leadership of Enver Yücel, a mathematics educator and businessman, BHSSciTech is a highly selective coeducational boarding college preparatory school situated on the periphery of Istanbul. It holds the unique distinction of being the sole not-for-profit institution affiliated with BUEI (Bahcesehir Ugur Educational Institutions). BHSSciTech drew inspiration from the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia, USA, and modeled its educational framework accordingly, marking a pioneering endeavor in Turkey. The institution has played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of Turkey by collaborating with scholars from various Turkish universities to develop its curricula. This collaboration eventually influenced the Turkish Ministry of Education to formally recognize 'High School for Science and Technology' as an official high school category in the country. In the year 2022, BHSSciTech relocated to its new premises within the Bahcesehir University Future Campus, situated in Kemerburgaz, a suburban area of Istanbul.
Autonomy
Kemerburgaz BHSSciTech, while operating as a subsidiary of Bahcesehir Schools, distinguishes itself markedly from other educational institutions under the Bahcesehir umbrella. This distinction arises from its specific endowment, which is provided by the Bahcesehir Ugur Educational Institutions and is exclusively earmarked for the support of student projects and the covering of expenses associated with its uniquely tailored academic programs. Following the noteworthy achievements of Istanbul BHSSciTech, Bahcesehir embarked upon the establishment of additional High Schools for Science and Technology across various regions in Turkey. However, it is essential to clarify that these recently established campuses are presently undergoing an adaptation phase and are not interconnected with our Kemerburgaz campus in any substantive capacity.

Merit-based scholarships
Students are awarded scholarships, up to 100% of their tuition, according to their rank in the national exams. This ensures that extraordinarily successful students can attend regardless of their financial situation.
